Live Like You Were Dying

We've all heard it...and yes there is even a song about it.  But what if you knew you were going to die tomorrow and only had a little longer on earth?  How would your life be different?

Our church message series started off Strong yesterday by talking about how possible it is to make the most of every day... starting now.
This lesson series has really gotten me excited and as I listed intently I learned how to apply "Living in the Moment" to all areas of my daily life.

As the preacher gave the first bullet point,  "Live with a sense of Urgency" it really was one of those YES moments for me.  Basically, most of the inspiring quotes and common phrases that we hear about life, that we don't really bat an eye to anymore, encompasses this one idea. "Live life with no regrets".... just isn't powerful enough anymore!  We hear it, we know it, but we've become numb to it... and it just really doesn't do anything for us.  It doesn't MOVE us to the point of change.  It's just like telling someone that "everything happens for a reason".  Most of the time, the stoic reaction of  "yeah yeah, I know" happens.
"Living with a sense of Urgency"....I GET!!!  We should all live our lives like we are going to die tomorrow, b.c. who knows... we might.  Nothing is guaranteed so we have to INVEST now.  We have to stop wishing our life away and turn our then's into now's! No one likes to think about dying, but we have to remember that All of our days are numbered.   To really grasp that, commit it to our memories, and apply it daily will compel us to:
LIVE WITH A SENSE OF URGENCY.
and with that...many good things will follow.

Spicin it Up

Decided to turn an  unused ironing cabinet in the kitchen to a useful Spice Cabinet.  Old Houses have such unusual nooks full of character but some things just aren't as practical anymore.  Love updated spaces.

Tis the Season

I LOVE the Season of Lent for so many reasons. Not only does it give me an opportunity to give up something that I truly rely on daily, but it also provides me  with an extra purpose to reflect and take stock.  This season really celebrates part of the purpose of my blog to dig deep and soul search.  My sacrifice this year bitter-sweetly (no pun intended).... is chocolate.  I know I know, it's so unoriginal and boring... but for me it's going to be a long hard road.
I LOVE that Lent forces us to fight our everyday urges in order to remember what is most important.

SpRiNg HaS SpRuNg

Walked the baby dog today and decided to try and capture all of the spring sensations along the way.  For me, spring signifies a time for new life and fresh beginnings and honestly I couldn't be more ready and excited.
